We’ll do another writing workshop on Thursday–on analysis and reflection. Some good news to consider: After you’ve done the work for last week and this week, you should have written at least 1/3 of your draft–so you’l be well on your way.
Preparing for Thursday’s Workshop
- Re-read Harvey’s definitions of “Analysis” and “Reflection.”
- Write one paragraph analyzing one of your sources–either a primary or secondary one.
- Write a reflection paragraph. Reflection can take many forms, so choose one or two of Harvey’s modes of reflecting to work on: considering a counter-argument; defining terms or assumptions; examining an implication; qualifying one of your claims; establishing context, etc.
- Bring a hard copy of your paragraphs to class, along with Harvey’s “Elements” handout.
