The books and the other sources we have read in the past in the course, their stories were straight forward and to the point. But in Motherless Brooklyn Lethem I feel like the author is playing the game of mystery. He wants us to go to the next page to find out what will happen next instead of us predicting the plot. As a reader, I feel like he wants us to draw a picture of the scene and be open about it. Since I am doing my project on images and the way it can help us understand better so I am thinking everything in the form of images. He also plays the role where let the language take care of the mystery to solve the puzzle for the readers. The way language works and how human’s brain is conscious of certain things to predict it so fast, even though we are not there to the point to make predication. I think we are trained that way to make an assumption, sometimes we don’t think further down the path. Lethem also makes the connection between self and world surrounding us to the abnormal mind. Our brain makes us do unique things which connect to the experience.
